Jakarta (ANTARA) - All residents and government apparatus in the DKI Jakarta Province are urged to increase vigilance and maintain security, tranquillity, and public order during the Eid exodus and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE. This is in accordance with Circular Letter (SE) No. 14/SE/2026 dated 13 March 2026 issued by the Secretary of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional Secretariat, following direct instructions from Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. “Eid al-Fitr is a sacred moment that must be celebrated in a safe, peaceful, and communal atmosphere. Let us together keep Jakarta conducive,” said the Special Staff to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, in Jakarta on Thursday. Chico explained that Pramono has also instructed all mayors and regents in DKI Jakarta Province to optimise the roles of their respective regions through cross-agency coordination. The following are the concrete steps mandated in the Circular Letter of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat No. 14/SE/2026: 1. Mobilising all community elements through community institutions, community/religious figures, youth leaders, and community partnership forums to anticipate security disturbances, tranquillity, and public order such as brawls, motorcycle gangs, firecrackers, and the like. 2. Reactivating the Neighbourhood Security System (Siskamling) in each neighbourhood unit (RT/RW) to be alert to and prevent various potential security disturbances, tranquillity, and public order. 3. Urging residents undertaking the exodus before leaving home to ensure it is secure, including: a. doors and windows are properly locked; b. turning off electricity supply and unnecessary electronic devices; c. ensuring the stove is off and the gas regulator is disconnected; d. entrusting pets to pet boarding facilities during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 exodus. 4. Ensuring no waste accumulation in the neighbourhood during Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026. 5. Providing parking spaces at Mayor/Regent Offices, Sub-District Head Offices, and Village Head Offices as vehicle drop-off points during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 exodus from 18 March to 24 March 2026 free of charge. 6. Coordinating and forming duty rosters and alerts in respective areas to anticipate various disaster threats and security disturbances during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 exodus. 7. Urging new arrivals to report themselves to the local RT/RW administrators within 1x24 hours after arriving in DKI Jakarta Province.
