Jakarta Residents to Receive Discounts on 2021–2025 PBB Arrears if Paid in 2026
Jakarta residents who still have outstanding Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) for the period 2021–2025 will receive relief in the form of discounts if they settle the arrears during the 2026 tax year. This policy forms part of a package of incentives relaunched by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to promote tax compliance while easing the burden on the public. Head of the DKI Jakarta Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Lusiana Herawati, stated that this incentive programme is a continuation of previous policies deemed effective in increasing local tax revenues. She also urged the public to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that timely tax payments contribute to Jakarta’s development. “In addition to easing the burden, timely payments also contribute to the development of Jakarta as a global city,” she said. The DKI Provincial Government has set several PBB-P2 incentive schemes applicable in 2026, ranging from exemptions to early payment discounts. The DKI Provincial Government offers up to 100% PBB exemptions for houses with a taxable object sales value (NJOP) of up to Rp 2 billion and apartments up to Rp 650 million. This exemption applies only to one house owned by the taxpayer and is exclusive to individuals whose data has been validated in the online tax system. 2. Reduction of principal by position This incentive is provided automatically by the system, including a 50% discount for residents who had no PBB bills in the previous year. In addition, the 2026 tax increase is limited to a maximum of five percent from 2025. If there is an addition to the building or land area, the increase is limited to a maximum of 25 percent.
