Jakarta remains messy

Jakarta is known to be the center of virtually everything in
the country. It has also been proclaimed as a service city.
Unfortunately, the messy condition of the city remains unaltered.
Take public transportation, for example. The city administration
has many plans to improve this sector, ranging from the
introduction of a busway and a monorail to the import of used
buses from Japan.

While all the plans are encouraging, the reality is
discouraging. The public has to accept the messy condition of
public transportation in the city.

Obviously, transportation is only one of the problems now
plaguing Jakarta. When will Jakarta really become a service city
and a center of everything in this country? Only time will tell.
