Jakarta Reinstates Odd-Even Traffic Rule Today, Violators Face Fines
The Jakarta Provincial Government has reinstated the odd-even traffic rule (ganjil genap) today, Tuesday (2/6/2026), after it was temporarily suspended on 1 June 2026 for the national holiday commemorating Pancasila’s Birthday. During the holiday, the Jakarta Transport Agency (Dishub) temporarily suspended restrictions on vehicles with four or more wheels on roads typically subject to the rule. ‘Due to the Pancasila Birthday holiday, the implementation of the odd-even system on various Jakarta roads has been suspended,’ stated the official Dishub DKI Jakarta account. With the holiday over, the odd-even system has been reinstated from today until Friday (5/6/2026). The policy will be enforced in two sessions: 6:00-10:00 AM and 4:00-9:00 PM. Authorities have reminded drivers to comply with the rule to avoid on-the-spot fines. Violators will face penalties under Article 287 of the Road Traffic and Transport Law (UU LLAJ), with a maximum fine of Rp 500,000. For reference, the following 25 roads in Jakarta will be subject to the odd-even rule over the next four days:
