Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency Building Catches Fire Again

The Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) building on Jalan Abdul Muis Number 66, Petojo Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, caught fire again on Friday afternoon (21/8).

“Officers are currently still working to extinguish and break down the burning material,” according to an official report from the Command Center of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) on Friday (21/8).

The fire at the Jakarta Bapenda building destroyed the archive room on the 11th floor of the structure. The incident was first reported by the Gambir Sub-district Fire Task Force at 5.10 pm Western Indonesia Time.

Firefighters arrived at the location at around 5.18 pm and immediately began extinguishing operations two minutes later.

Officers managed to localise the flames at 5.25 pm before proceeding to the cooling process.

The handling of the fire at the Jakarta Bapenda building encountered technical difficulties on the ground, as the building’s water pump facility was not functioning properly at the time of the incident.

To extinguish the fire at the Jakarta Bapenda building, eight fire engines and 30 personnel were deployed to the scene.

On 7 August 2026, the Jakarta Bapenda building had previously caught fire. The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service deployed 20 fire engines and 100 personnel to control the situation and extinguish the blaze.
