Jakarta Receives Black-and-White Birthday Wreath from West Java Governor, DKI Provincial Government Responds
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government received a black-and-white floral wreath congratulating the city on its 499th anniversary on Monday (22/6/2026). The wreath, which contrasted sharply with the others, was inscribed as being from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, also known as KDM.
Special Staff to the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, conveyed thanks to all parties who sent wreaths for the 499th anniversary of Jakarta. The gratitude was also extended to KDM, whose wreath was displayed at DKI Jakarta City Hall.
‘Governor Pramono Anung and the entire DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would like to thank everyone for the floral tributes from all citizens, government officials, and of course including Kang Dedi Mulyadi,’ he said when confirmed by Republika on Monday evening.
Based on Republika’s observations, the wreaths in the courtyard of DKI Jakarta City Hall generally featured bright colours reflecting a celebratory atmosphere. However, one wreath among the dozens on display provided a stark contrast.
The wreath had a monochrome design, with a black background and white lettering at the top, and a white background with black lettering at the bottom. The arrangement, featuring white flowers and a congratulatory message, was inscribed as being from Kang Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java.
‘Happy 499th Anniversary to the City of Jakarta. Kang Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java,’ read the inscription on the wreath.
