Suahasil has been entrusted with ensuring the state budget continues to grow and stabilise the economy.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has expressed hope that the new Finance Minister will be able to continue coordination with the Jakarta Provincial Government, including on revenue-sharing funds (DBH).
He said the replacement of the Finance Minister is the President’s prerogative. As such, the Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to work with anyone the President trusts to hold the position.
Regarding the DBH, Pramono did not mention any particular target or figure. He expressed hope that the new minister can resolve various strategic issues.
“The main point is that whoever becomes minister, we pray that they will succeed,” he said, quoted on Tuesday (15/9).
According to Pramono, the Finance Minister is one of the most strategic positions in government, so the relationship between central and regional governments must be continuously maintained.
“Moreover, the Finance Minister is one of the most strategic ministers, so hopefully the President’s decision on the Finance Minister is the best one,” he said.
He affirmed that the Jakarta Provincial Government stands ready to coordinate with the new Finance Minister to discuss various matters concerning Jakarta’s interests.
President Prabowo Subianto appointed Suahasil Nazara to replace Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as Finance Minister on Monday (14/9).
