The Jakarta Provincial Government officially commenced the Jakarta Ramadan Festival on Friday, 27 February 2026. The festival runs until 31 March 2026 and features various religious, cultural, entertainment activities and shopping promotions to celebrate Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in Jakarta.

“Various activities include the Jakarta Light Festival and Jakarta Festive Wonder. The main theme is ‘Mudik ke Jakarta’ (Going to Jakarta),” said Governor Pramono Anung in a statement received by Kompas.com on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

Following the “Mudik ke Jakarta” theme, Pramono invited residents to enjoy the beauty of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in the capital.

Multiple tourism and recreation promotion packages are available from the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) DKI, the Indonesian Travel Agent Association (Astindo) DKI, and the Jakarta Experience Board.

“We will provide facilities, including tax incentives for shopping centres and hotels so they can offer significant discounts. At its peak, I am confident the discounts could reach 70 per cent,” said Pramono.

A total of 101 shopping centres are participating in the Jakarta Festive Wonder, which targets transaction volumes of up to Rp15 trillion, an increase compared to the previous achievement of Rp13 trillion. This programme offers discounts of up to 70 per cent, midnight sales, raffles, UMKM corners, and QRIS payment campaigns to strengthen Ramadan economic circulation whilst boosting consumer purchasing power.

Several flagship programmes have been prepared to enliven the Jakarta Ramadan Festival, such as the Jakarta Light Festival themed “Ramadan Light in Jakarta” from 19 February to 24 March 2026.

There is also Harmoni Ramadan Jakarta every day from 16:00–17:30 WIB featuring hadroh, marawis, qasidah, and nasyid performances delivering a religious atmosphere.

Religious art attractions are also presented through Jakarta Rebana Ramadan Kolosal on Friday, 27 February 2026, at Bundaran HI, one hour before breaking the fast. This performance combines traditional rebana with modern music arrangements in a grand ensemble format designed to deliver a spiritual, cultural, and communal experience in public spaces.

Commodities provided include rice, cooking oil, sugar, eggs, and chicken meat.

In the creative economy sector, Jakarta Eid Modest Fashion 2026 is held in Tanah Abang as Indonesia’s largest textile centre. This activity serves as a collaboration space for national designers and regional SMEs whilst strengthening Jakarta’s branding as the nation’s creative economy hub.

The festival series is also enlivened by Nyepi Day celebrations through the Ogoh-ogoh Parade and religious, social, and cultural activities spread across North, East, and Central Jakarta.
