Jakarta Provincial Government Verifies Population Data of Illegal Parking Attendants Caught in Raids
The Jakarta Provincial Government is conducting population data verification for illegal parking attendants caught during ‘Illegal Parking Enforcement Operations’ across Jakarta’s five administrative cities.
‘We are involving the Social Affairs Office and the Population and Civil Registry Office. Therefore, the population data of any illegal parking attendants caught will be verified,’ stated the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), Budi Awaluddin, in Jakarta on Monday.
He added that illegal parking attendants who are not residents of Jakarta will be repatriated to their respective home regions by the Social Affairs Office. Conversely, those who are Jakarta residents will undergo coaching and guidance programmes.
The Illegal Parking Enforcement Operation, which also includes ‘valve removal’ (removing tyre valves) and towing, commenced on Monday and will continue indefinitely to ensure public order, security, and convenience. During today’s operations, tyre valves were removed from three motorcycles in the Gambir area, four in front of Cikini Station, and 37 in front of RSCM.
Enforcement locations included West Jakarta, specifically Cengkareng, Kalideres, and Kembangan; Central Jakarta, including Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, and the Thamrin City area; South Jakarta, covering Jalan Kasablanka, Jalan Rasuna Said, and Jalan Dr. Satrio; North Jakarta, specifically Kelapa Gading, Pademangan, and Pluit; and East Jakarta, including Jatinegara Timur, Jatinegara Barat, and Jatinegara Station.
During the operation, Budi emphasised that roads are public facilities intended for community mobility and should not serve as parking locations that obstruct traffic flow. He also instructed field officers to ensure that all enforcement actions are carried out humanely, professionally, and in accordance with applicable regulations.
