Jakarta (ANTARA) - Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo will soon issue a Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) as a derivative of Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas). “The DKI Jakarta Government, we have already held discussions, we have approved it, and we will create a Pergub as a derivative of that PP,” said Pramono in central Jakarta on Friday. According to him, compared to other regions in Indonesia, children in Jakarta are relatively more digitally savvy. Therefore, a derivative regulation from PP Tunas is deemed necessary to be created promptly. The creation of the Pergub as a derivative of PP Tunas, he said, is one form of support from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) for that regulation. “Because the largest consumers here are for minors, which has been regulated in PP Tunas. Of course, the people of DKI Jakarta who are relatively more digitally aware, so we will provide full support and backing for that,” Pramono stated. “Concrete steps being prepared include mass socialisation to parents, schools, RT/RW communities, and the public through official provincial channels, social media, and public forums,” said Chico on 28 March 2026. In addition, he continued, the Pemprov DKI will also coordinate with digital platforms to ensure compliance in the Jakarta area. Furthermore, strengthening family digital literacy will be carried out so that online restrictions are balanced with more active parental guidance. For the scope of Jakarta schools, Pemprov DKI through the Education Office has previously issued Circular Letter No. e-0001/SE/2026 on the Wise Use of Gadgets in Educational Units (from PAUD to SMA). “Teachers and school principals will receive additional instructions to limit gadget use during lesson hours (except for approved learning purposes), to collect students’ gadgets in a special place provided by the school,” said Chico. Then, teachers are also asked to increase supervision, guidance, and socialisation of digital space risks to students, as well as to encourage more meaningful offline activities.
