Jakarta Provincial Government to Soon Build Flats in Marunda Cluster C and Rorotan IX

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government will soon commence construction on two of the eleven previously announced low-cost apartment complexes (Rusunawa), specifically at Marunda Cluster C and the Rorotan IX area in North Jakarta.

“In our regional budget (APBD), there are plans for the construction of 11 new low-cost apartments owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Of those 11, two that will be built in the near future are Marunda Cluster C, consisting of five towers, and Rorotan IX, which is planned to have seven towers,” Pramono stated in West Jakarta on Thursday.

However, Pramono did not specify the exact timeline for when the construction will commence.

He noted that the capacity of these apartments will be consistent with other existing low-cost housing units in the capital.

The construction of the apartments in these two locations will be financed through the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

Furthermore, in addition to the Jakarta regional budget, the Provincial Government is also developing low-cost housing through a partnership scheme with the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas under the Three Million Houses Programme.

“Marunda and Rorotan are the priorities, but we are also working with the central government, specifically the Ministry of Housing, regarding the Three Million Houses Programme. There will be nine more apartment complexes built jointly between the central government and the Jakarta Provincial Government,” Pramono explained.

Previously, the Head of the Jakarta Housing and Residential Areas Agency (DPRKP), Kelik Indriyanto, stated that the construction of the 11 apartment complexes is currently in the proposal stage to the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas.

“We sincerely hope for full support through the three million houses programme as a shared portfolio between the Central and Regional Governments,” said Kelik.

The 11 planned apartment complexes are slated for construction in Muara Angke, Marunda Cluster C, Komarudin, Rorotan IX, Cakung KM 2, Tongkol Phase III, Marunda Cluster A, Marunda Cluster B, Semper Cakung Drain, Bojong Indah, and Daan Mogot KM 18.
