Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold an international job fair in October 2026 as part of efforts to broaden public access to employment opportunities abroad.

“For jobseekers looking for information on vacancies, we are holding an international job fair in October. Not national, but international,” said Taufik, Head of the Job Placement Division at the Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Office (Disnakertransgi), in East Jakarta on Tuesday.

The international job fair in October 2026 forms part of efforts to widen public access to overseas employment opportunities. The event will serve as the closing instalment of a series of job fairs previously held at the regional level.

“So not national, but international. There are many job opportunities abroad,” said Taufik.

The event is planned to take place at Smesco Pancoran, South Jakarta, at the end of October 2026.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a large number of overseas job opportunities. According to Taufik, there are around 200,000 overseas vacancies that jobseekers can take advantage of.

At the job fair, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will involve around 20 companies that place Indonesian migrant workers.

These companies will collaborate with the government to recruit jobseekers interested in obtaining employment in various countries.

According to Taufik, the presence of migrant worker placement companies will make it easier for the public to obtain first-hand information about overseas labour demands.

Jobseekers will also have the opportunity to understand the requirements, qualifications and placement process before deciding to apply for a position.

Furthermore, international employment opportunities are one of the alternatives the government continues to promote in order to expand job prospects for the public.

One overseas opportunity available comes from the Mongolian government, which is offering jobs to Jakarta residents by providing around 8,000 vacancies.

These job opportunities have not yet entered the recruitment stage, as the process is still awaiting a recruitment permit from the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI).
