Jakarta Provincial Government to Build Flyover in Front of Pancasila University
The Jakarta Provincial Government is continuing its efforts to complete the construction of the Latumenten Flyover in the Grogol area, West Jakarta. The flyover construction is targeted for completion by the end of 2026.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that his administration will not only build a flyover in the Grogol area. Currently, there are several other areas that need flyovers to overcome traffic congestion.
“The first thing regarding flyovers that have not been built, there are indeed priorities. The Head of the Bina Marga Agency has already reported to me, I have asked for it to be officially reported in a meeting,” Pramono said in the Grogol area, West Jakarta, Thursday (2/7/2026).
He said the Jakarta Provincial Government will soon decide on other points where flyovers will be built after the construction in Latumenten is completed. He mentioned that there are at least three priority points where flyovers will be built after Latumenten, namely in Pejompongan, Pancasila University, and Bintaro.
“We will soon decide which one is already a necessity, including whether it is in Pejompongan, or at Pancasila, or in Bintaro. They do exist, but the highest priority right now is indeed this place because this place is a necessity,” Pramono said.
The construction progress of the Latumenten Flyover has currently reached 55.2 per cent. The project, which costs Rp 259 billion, is targeted for completion on 15 December 2026.
The flyover construction is being carried out because the area often becomes a source of traffic congestion. This is due to the presence of a level railway crossing at the location. The existing level crossing in the area will be permanently closed after the flyover construction is completed.
