Jakarta Provincial Government Revokes Operating Permits for Two Entertainment Venues in West Jakarta Following Drug Raid
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Jakarta Provincial Government has revoked the operating permits for two entertainment venues, B Fashion and The Seven, in West Jakarta, following a drug raid on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The Head of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Andhika Permata, stated that there would be no tolerance for businesses proven to be involved in or allowing illegal activities.
“The revocation of the operating permit is a form of firmness in maintaining a safe, orderly, and quality tourism ecosystem. We want to ensure that all tourism businesses in Jakarta become a comfortable and safe space for the community and tourists,” said Andhika in his official statement on Friday, May 15, 2026.
“Tourism business actors are not only responsible for their business activities but also for the security, order, and legal compliance in their business environment. Therefore, internal supervision by management must be carried out consistently,” said Andhika.
The Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office also stated that it would tighten supervision with law enforcement officials to prevent similar incidents in other entertainment venues.
“Supervision will continue to be strengthened with law enforcement officials and related parties. We want the tourism industry in Jakarta to grow healthily, orderly, and have standards that can maintain public trust,” said Andhika.
Previously, police raided the B-Fashion karaoke venue in the Grogol Petamburan area, West Jakarta, in connection with alleged drug transactions and abuse.
The Head of the Tourism Industry Section of the West Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-Department, Gun Gun Mujiantara, confirmed the raid.
However, according to management, the drugs found were not from the karaoke management.
“Yes, it’s true there was a raid. But according to management, the drugs did not come from the management at all; there was no involvement. So, it was from guests from outside,” said Gun Gun when confirmed by telephone on Tuesday.
