Jakarta — The Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a decision regarding Transjabodetex fare structures, which will no longer be fixed at Rp3,500, but will instead be adjusted based on travel distance and service characteristics.

“As I mentioned previously, it is impossible for the Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta route to remain at Rp3,500; using Damri or other modes of transport already averages above Rp100,000,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at the Urban Knowledge Hub, South Jakarta, on Monday.

He emphasised that there will be an adjustment to the Transjabodetabek fares, with the final decision to be announced in the near future. Consequently, Transjabodetabek users are expected to understand that the planned fare adjustments are being made by considering travel distance and the quality of service provided.

Nevertheless, the government ensures that the decided tariffs will remain affordable for the community and will support the increased use of public transportation.

“Therefore, there will be an adjustment, and the specific figures will be decided in the near future,” Pramano added.

As previously noted, Transjakarta is set to operate a new Transjabodetabek route, namely route SH2: Blok M - Soekarno-Hatta, starting 12 March 2026. The Jakarta Provincial Government plans to discuss the fares for this route, with estimates ranging between Rp10,000 and Rp15,000. However, Pramono will make the final decision on the tariff after the route has been operational for three months.
