The Head of the Road Transport Terminal Management Unit (UP TAJ) of the Jakarta Transportation Department, Zulkifli, stated that the return traffic flow is similarly expected to be divided into two phases, occurring on 24 March and 28 March.

“For 24 March, typically employees start returning to work, whilst on 28 or 29 March it is usually students who return, as the Eid transport service posts close on 29 March,” Zulkifli said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

According to him, the dual-phase pattern of outbound and return travel will impact service operations at the terminals. For this reason, service periods will be extended given the two peak travel periods.

Nevertheless, he stated, these conditions are believed to reduce passenger congestion at terminals, enabling Eid transport services to run more smoothly.

Jakarta’s provincial government has prepared several main terminals during the 2026 Eid Transport period, namely Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, and Tanjung Priok Terminal.

Additionally, three backup terminals have been prepared—Lebak Bulus Terminal, Muara Angke Terminal, and Grogol Terminal—to manage the anticipated increase in passengers ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Jakarta’s provincial government has also prepared urban public transport services (feeder) that will transport residents to the main terminals and airport. Fourteen BRT corridors will operate around the clock throughout the period.
