Jakarta Provincial Government Opens 2,843 Vacancies in Labour-Intensive Programme
The Jakarta Provincial Government is opening 2,843 job vacancies through its Labour-Intensive Programme (Program Padat Karya) throughout 2026. Participants will receive wages equivalent to the Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), which is around Rp5.7 million per month, with the sole requirement being possession of a Jakarta identity card (KTP). Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated the programme is a direct response to the economic pressures beginning to be felt within the community. “We are opening this labour-intensive programme as a short-term social cushion so that people can continue to work and earn an income,” Pramono said in a written statement on Wednesday (17/6). Special Staff to the Governor, Chico Hakim, said the programme reflects the governor’s commitment to building Jakarta from the ground up and alleviating social pressures by providing inclusive and targeted employment. “Through the Labour-Intensive Programme, we are not only opening job opportunities but also ensuring this assistance truly reaches those in need, thereby helping to reduce unemployment and boost economic turnover at the sub-district and neighbourhood levels,” Chico stated. The programme will involve various public service activities, including support in the social, health, education, sanitation, and environmental infrastructure sectors. The public is urged to follow official information through the Jakarta Provincial Government’s platforms and not be influenced by fake news. “We invite all Jakarta residents to support this programme. Together, we build a stronger and more inclusive Jakarta,” he said. The registration link for the Jakarta Labour-Intensive Programme can be accessed via https://www.jakarta.go.id/padat-karya.
