The Jakarta Provincial Government has officially opened 2,843 job vacancies under a labour-intensive programme. The vacancies were created because many Jakarta residents remain unemployed amid the current economic conditions.

According to the Jakarta Provincial Government’s Instagram account @dkijakarta, the programme was officially launched on Monday (15/6/2026). This means residents can immediately apply for the jobs provided under the labour-intensive scheme.

The vacancies are in labour-intensive sectors within several regional apparatus organisations (OPD) of the Jakarta Provincial Government, such as the Highways Agency, the Parks and Urban Forest Agency, the Water Resources Agency, and the Environmental Agency. The labour-intensive activities include maintenance, arrangement, and upkeep of the city environment.

The requirements to apply for these jobs are holding a Jakarta ID card (KTP), belonging to desil 1-5, being of productive age (18-59 years), not currently employed at the time of registration, and being physically and mentally healthy. The programme will run throughout 2026 with recruitment carried out in stages.

The programme is an effort to reduce unemployment. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government is providing opportunities for residents to earn short-term income.

Participants will work through third-party implementers for each activity. However, this employment is not part of a scheme to appoint civil servants or other individual service providers (PJLP) within the Jakarta Provincial Government.
