Jakarta Provincial Government Officially Launches Five Centuries of Jakarta Commemorative Logo
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Jakarta Provincial Government has officially launched a commemorative logo for Jakarta’s five-century anniversary, which will serve as the official identity for the series of celebrations leading towards Jakarta’s 500-year milestone.
Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the logo was selected through a competitive process from several submissions in a design contest.
“From the ten entries in the competition, it was narrowed down to five and ultimately one was chosen,” said Pramono at City Hall in Jakarta on Tuesday.
However, he did not explain the reasons why the logo was ultimately selected from among the ten entries in the design competition.
He stated that the logo would be promptly promoted by all regional organisational units (OPD), Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and officials across the Jakarta Provincial Government.
“I have immediately requested all OPDs, then BUMDs, and all officials within the Jakarta Provincial Government to help promote this logo,” said Pramono.
He emphasised that the use of the five-century Jakarta logo would not replace existing Jakarta identities or slogans.
The logo will be used exclusively to commemorate the 500-year anniversary of Jakarta, with the main celebration scheduled for 2027.
“This is not like before, where we would change other things. This is simply a special logo for welcoming five centuries of Jakarta,” explained Pramono.
As previously reported, the peak of Jakarta’s five-century anniversary celebrations is scheduled for 22 June 2027. The Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing various activities to mark this historic milestone.
