Jakarta Provincial Government Offers Up to 7.5 Per Cent Discount on Land and Building Tax

The Jakarta Provincial Government has once again introduced incentives for the 2026 Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2). Under this policy, taxpayers have the opportunity to receive a 7.5 per cent discount on the principal PBB-P2 amount for the 2026 tax year, provided payments are made between 1 June and 31 July 2026. The incentive is applied automatically at the time of payment.

Taxpayers do not need to submit a special application to receive this discount; they simply need to complete their payment within the specified period. This policy serves as an opportunity for the public to fulfil their PBB-P2 obligations more lightly, particularly as mid-year tax payments become a priority.

Taxpayers should also note that the value stated in the Tax Payable Notification Letter (SPPT) may differ from the actual billing amount at the time of payment. This is because the 7.5 per cent discount is not always displayed separately, especially on certain payment channels. If the billing amount appearing during payment is lower than the value stated in the SPPL, it indicates that the discount has been applied automatically. In other words, taxpayers still receive the incentive even if the discount description does not appear explicitly on the payment channel.

In addition to the discount for the 2026 tax year, the Jakarta Provincial Government is also providing a waiver of administrative sanctions for taxpayers with outstanding PBB-P2 arrears from previous years. Through this policy, taxpayers only need to pay the principal tax amount without being subject to late payment penalties. This waiver of administrative sanctions applies to PBB-P2 payments for the 2021 to 2025 tax years, including payments made under instalment schemes. The period for the administrative sanction waiver runs from 1 April to 31 December 2026.

The introduction of these various incentives is expected to help ease the burden on the public while simultaneously encouraging increased compliance in meeting regional tax obligations. By utilising the incentive period, taxpayers can settle their obligations early and avoid potential additional burdens in the future.

Furthermore, PBB-P2 payments are vital in supporting Jakarta’s development. Regional taxes paid by the community serve as a primary source of revenue used to fund various development needs and public services. This contribution is felt by the community through various forms of services and facilities, ranging from infrastructure improvements and public facilities to education and health services, as well as various other urban development programmes.

The Jakarta Provincial Government invites the public to take advantage of the 2026 PBB-P2 incentives within the specified periods. By paying taxes early, citizens not only receive relief but also contribute to building a more comfortable, safe, inclusive, and advanced Jakarta.
