Jakarta Provincial Government Launches Mobile Animal Clinic Service
The Jakarta Provincial Government has launched a mobile animal clinic service that will operate across the city’s five administrative municipalities. Services provided range from animal health examinations to laboratory tests.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended the launch to inspect the new service in Kramat Jati Urban Village, East Jakarta, on Friday, 10 July 2026. ‘Today, perhaps for the first time in Indonesia, we have a mobile animal clinic,’ Pramono said in his remarks on Friday.
In his statement, Pramono explained that the mobile animal clinic offers various services, including consultations for pet owners, animal health examinations, and vaccinations. Additionally, treatment for sick animals is available, complete with laboratory examinations.
‘Including routine blood tests, biochemistry, urine, and faeces. Ultrasound examinations can also be performed here,’ he said.
Pramono added that sterilisation and minor surgery are also available through this service. He further explained that each mobile unit, which will operate across the five administrative city areas, will be staffed by medical personnel.
‘There will be one veterinarian and one paramedic, and many procedures can be performed in this mobile clinic,’ he continued. Pramono stated that the public will receive professionally handled services.
According to Pramono, this programme serves as social capital for Jakarta to maintain its status as a rabies-free city. ‘We must certainly support, maintain, and care for this.’
He also noted that this step simultaneously supports Jakarta’s role as a global city, an economic hub, and the nation’s capital. He described this as a new breakthrough, making Jakarta an animal-friendly city.
