The Lokasari Area Allegations

As previously reported, the Lokasari area in Tamansari, West Jakarta, went viral with allegations of being a child prostitution site for minors. Police have launched an investigation.

The information went viral on social media as observed on detikcom on Monday (25 May). In the viral post, a video was described as having been recorded by a Japanese national.

The videographer appeared to be approached by several individuals allegedly offering prostitution services. In the circulating video, they can be heard shouting and saying “seventeen” and “virgin” to the videographer.

When contacted separately, Tamansari Police Precinct Chief Kompol Bobby M. Zulfikar said his unit has already launched an investigation. Police have also checked the Lokasari area that went viral as an alleged prostitution site.

“There is such a report, we checked the location, this is related to a new video. We explain again that this is still in the stage of investigation or inquiry process,” said Bobby when contacted on Monday (25 May).
