REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Special Committee on Parking Management of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) at the parking location in Blok M Square, South Jakarta, on Monday (11/5/2026). During the inspection, officials sealed the parking facilities and infrastructure managed by the operator Best Parking due to alleged illegality.

Deputy Coordinator of the Governor’s Special Staff, Yustinus Prastowo, stated that he supports the enforcement efforts undertaken by the Jakarta Provincial DPRD. Following the sealing, his side immediately coordinated internally to investigate the alleged illegal parking practices in the Blok M Square area.

“Now, the Transportation Agency and the Regional Tax Agency are conducting a thorough investigation because this involves aspects of licensing and the collection of parking taxes,” he said at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

He could not yet confirm whether the parking management by Best Parking is illegal or not, as his side still needs to conduct checks first.

Nevertheless, Prastowo said that the Jakarta Provincial Government will not tolerate illegal parking practices. Considering that such practices not only harm the public but also the Jakarta Provincial Government.

“In principle, the Provincial Government certainly does not tolerate any activities related to illegal parking,” he said.
