Jakarta Provincial Government Celebrates National Children's Day with Various Activities
The Jakarta Provincial Government celebrated National Children’s Day (HAN) 2026 through various activities beneficial for the growth and development of children in Jakarta, hoping to bring them joy.
“We are holding a series of events for this National Children’s Day commemoration so that more children can experience it,” said Dwi Oktavia, Head of the Jakarta Office of Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP), at the Pegangsaan Dua LRT Jakarta Station on Saturday.
Carrying the theme “Protect and Realise a Resilient, Empowered Generation”, the various activities to commemorate HAN in Jakarta invited children to learn while playing through traditional games and a ‘Bermain Gembira’ (Play Happily) competition held at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (20/7). Through these activities, children were encouraged to cultivate values of honesty, sportsmanship, mutual cooperation, creativity, and the spirit to bounce back after facing failure.
“There are also several other series being held, such as children visiting museums, and other activities that bring joy to children and provide them with extraordinary experiences, which will be provisions for their growth and development,” Dwi said. Meanwhile, parents received education regarding children’s health, including nutrition and other topics.
“This activity provides added value for children, giving them the opportunity to play and perhaps make new friends with their peers. It is certainly beneficial for children’s growth and development,” Dwi stated. She also expressed pride that the HAN commemoration in Jakarta over the past week had been organised by various organisations, companies, communities, and government agencies. “We are proud because this HAN commemoration feels like it is owned by all parties. In the past week, many organisations, companies, communities, or government agencies have participated in organising various creative events to commemorate HAN in Jakarta,” Dwi revealed.
