Jakarta Prosecutors' Office Raids Ministry of Public Works Director-General's Offices, Investigates Alleged Misuse of Pendopo Construction Budget

Jakarta, VIVA – The Special Crimes Investigation Team of the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) DKI Jakarta carried out searches in several rooms of the Water Resources Directorate Building and the Directorate General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of Public Works, as well as officials’ rooms in the ministry.

The searches included the offices of the Director General of Water Resources and the Director General of Human Settlements, related to the investigation into alleged corruption in several items of activities for the 2023-2024 fiscal year,” said the Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) of the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, Dapot Dariarma, in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

This investigation concerns the alleged misuse of the state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) in the construction of a pendopo in the ministry’s area.

The searches were conducted as part of the investigation to obtain and secure evidence related to the alleged criminal act of corruption.

In its implementation, the investigation team visited several locations suspected to be connected to the case.

“From that activity, the investigators secured several items deemed relevant to the investigation process, including documents and electronic devices,” he said.

Subsequently, the secured items will undergo further examination and in-depth analysis to support the proof process in the investigation stage.

The Jakarta Special Region High Prosecutor’s Office affirms that the handling of this case is carried out professionally, transparently, and accountably in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Further developments regarding the handling of this case will be conveyed to the public as a form of transparency to society. (Ant)
