Jakarta Prepares Mobile Veterinary Clinics Across Five Regions

The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has prepared five mobile veterinary clinic vehicles operating across the city’s five administrative regions to make it easier for the public to obtain animal health services. The facility provides comprehensive animal healthcare, ranging from consultations, health examinations, vaccinations, and medication to laboratory tests (routine blood work, biochemistry, urine, and faeces), ultrasound, sterilisation, and minor surgery. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung invited the public to make the best use of the service. “All services are provided at retribution rates in accordance with applicable regulations, so the public can obtain animal health services that are easily accessible, high-quality, and affordable,” Pramono said while inspecting the mobile clinic vehicle, as quoted from a written statement on Sunday (12/7). Pramono explained that each vehicle unit is operated by a veterinarian and veterinary paramedic to ensure services remain professional, fast, and in line with animal health standards. He stated that the presence of this service is a manifestation of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to bringing services closer to the community, maintaining Jakarta’s status as a rabies-free city, and supporting Jakarta as a global, animal-friendly city. Meanwhile, DPRD DKI Jakarta member from the PDI Perjuangan faction, Hardiyanto Kenneth, appreciated the launch of the Mobile Veterinary Clinic. “Jakarta’s target is to become an animal-friendly city. The presence of this mobile veterinary clinic indicates that this target is gradually being achieved,” said Kenneth. According to him, Pramono has realised one of his campaign promises by expanding access to animal health services for the people of Jakarta. He said that with more accessible animal health services, the public is expected to receive faster and higher-quality medical care for their animals. However, the Commission C member assessed that service development still needs to be continued so that the benefits can be felt more widely by the community. All services available in the Mobile Veterinary Clinic are still subject to fees according to applicable regulations. Kent explained that the fee amounts refer to Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2024 concerning Regional Taxes and Retributions and apply to all residents, including pet owners without DKI Jakarta identity cards. He encouraged a special policy so that several types of services could be provided free of charge, especially for underprivileged residents or under certain conditions.
