Jakarta Prepares for Grand Drum Event with Traffic Diversions on Takbiran Night
The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI) has prepared a traffic flow diversion scheme on several major roads in the capital ahead of the “Jakarta Bedug Kolosal Malam Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah” event. This arrangement is planned to be implemented on Friday, 20 March 2026, from 8:00 PM WIB until the event concludes.
Deputy Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Ujang Harmawan, explained that the enforcement of regulations in the field will adjust to the dynamics of the crowd. “Traffic engineering is situational,” Ujang stated in his official remarks in Jakarta on Thursday (19/3/2026).

The “Jakarta Bedug Kolosal” event will also be enlivened by the “Pawai Obor Malam Takbiran”. Parade participants are scheduled to move from the Southwest Gate of Monas Intersection towards Bundaran HI via Jalan MH Thamrin.
Although the schedule has been arranged, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government emphasises that the certainty of implementing all series of these activities still depends on the central government’s decision. The confirmation of the 1 Syawal 1447 H date is still awaiting the results of the Isbat Session to be held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs tonight.
