Jakarta Police to Manage Traffic for Singapore PM's State Visit

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police will manage traffic flow on a number of roads in Jakarta to secure the state visit of Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to Indonesia on 5-6 July 2026.

Head of Operational Affairs at the Traffic Directorate, Commissioner Robby Hefados, stated on Sunday that the visiting delegation is scheduled to begin its series of state agendas starting Sunday at 18.00 Western Indonesia Time.

“Indonesia is receiving a state visit from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Lawrence Wong, and a series of state events will be held from Sunday to Monday, 5 to 6 July 2026, starting at 18.00 Western Indonesia Time until completion,” Robby said.

According to him, the temporary escort and traffic management are being carried out as a form of respect and to ensure the security of the state guest while in the capital city.

The roads that will be traversed by the state entourage include Jalan Raya Halim Perdanakusuma, Jalan MT Haryono, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur III, Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur II, Jalan Galunggung, and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

However, Robby confirmed that officers will not implement total road closures, but rather situational closures to ensure the comfort of other road users. “Road closures will only be implemented when the state guest’s entourage is passing through,” he said.

In light of this policy, the Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate urges members of the public who plan to travel through these areas to adjust their routes and comply with the directions of officers on the ground. Road users are also asked to prioritise safety and obey all traffic regulations during the state visit security operation.
