Jakarta Police Prepare Traffic Management for Thai PM's Visit

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya is preparing escorts and traffic management arrangements during the state visit of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, to Jakarta on 3-4 August 2026.

Head of the Development and Operations Division of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Robby Hefados, said personnel have been placed on standby to carry out escorts and traffic management to ensure the smooth running of the visiting dignitary’s series of activities.

“Officers in the field will carry out escorts and temporary traffic arrangements on several protocol roads in Jakarta,” said Robby in Jakarta on Monday.

Robby said the traffic arrangements were made to ensure the smooth journey of the delegation whilst also showing respect for the visiting dignitary.

He explained that traffic engineering would only be applied situationally as the state guest’s motorcade passed, so it would not last all day.

A number of roads to be traversed by the delegation include Jalan Halim Perdanakusuma, Jalan MT Haryono, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Sisingamangaraja and Jalan Trunojoyo.

Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya appealed to members of the public travelling through these areas to set out earlier or choose alternative routes to avoid potential traffic congestion when the delegation passes.

Meanwhile, according to an official statement published on the Royal Thai Government’s website, PM Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation departed from Bangkok for Jakarta on Monday local time.

The statement said PM Anutin and his delegation departed from Military Airport 2, Wing 6 Don Mueang, Bangkok, for Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, to make an official visit to Indonesia on 3-4 August 2026, including meeting Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
