Jakarta Police Mobile Brigade Disperses Youth Group Armed with Sharp Weapon in East Jakarta
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Mobile Brigade (Satbrimob Polda Metro Jaya) dispersed a group of youths suspected of planning a brawl in the Gang Haji Sarmili area, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, East Jakarta. One sharp weapon was seized from the location.
The dispersal was carried out during a joint patrol by Pioneer Battalion B of Satbrimob Polda Metro Jaya and the Precision Pioneer Team of the East Jakarta Metro Police. The group of youths was secured in the early hours of Sunday (21/6/2026).
The joint team initially swept several areas prone to public order disturbances in East Jakarta. Upon arriving at the location, officers found a group of youths gathering with suspicious behaviour.
The joint team then dispersed the group and secured the situation to prevent a brawl from occurring. The Commander of the Jakarta Police Mobile Brigade, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that his unit continues to increase patrols during vulnerable hours as a preventive measure against public order disturbances.
“We prioritise preventive actions through routine patrols in vulnerable areas to anticipate potential brawls and maintain a conducive situation,” he said.
After the dispersal, the patrol continued to other areas in the Ciracas vicinity. Officers also urged several youths who were still active in the early hours to return to their respective homes.
The Jakarta Police Mobile Brigade appealed to the public to immediately report potential brawls, street crime, or other public order disturbances through the emergency service 110 or the nearest police station. Active public participation is considered crucial to support prevention efforts on the ground.
