Jakarta: Poins Square Mall fire and Eco Qurban initiative on Monday

A range of incidents occurred in Jakarta on Monday (25 May), including a fire at Poins Square Mall’s coffee shop and a push for Eco Qurban during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. A staff member sustained burns in the fire at the Poins Square Mall coffee shop in Lebak Bulus, according to South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Division (Gulkarmat Jaksel). Fifty-four personnel from the same unit extinguished the blaze. Separately, Tanjung Priok Port Authority (KSOP) reported severe traffic congestion along Yos Sudarso Road towards Tanjung Priok Port and Cilincing, caused by container depot operations in Cakung, East Jakarta. Kramat Jati District prioritised distributing organic and inorganic waste bins across residential areas to strengthen source-separated waste management. Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) urged residents and Qurban organisers to apply Eco Qurban principles during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah.
