Jakarta permanently seals padel court building in West Jakarta Kembangan area

Jakarta — The Jakarta Provincial Government has permanently sealed the Atlas Padel building on Jalan Puri Indah, Block Q, South Kembangan, Kembangan District, West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah confirmed that the building lacks the necessary permit and functionally cannot be authorised. “It has been sealed. The Atlas Padel facility cannot have a permit,” she said via message to ANTARA in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Iin stated that the location should be restored to its function as green open space (RTH). “It must be converted back to green open space,” she said.

Regarding the technical process for the building’s conversion, Iin indicated that authority rests with the West Jakarta Public Works, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs Office (Sudin CKTRP).

An ANTARA observation at the site at 16:30 WIB showed that barrier tape from the Public Works Office had been placed around the padel building. A red banner on the building’s door contained information about the sealing.

“This building has been subject to permanent closure. It violates Law Number 6 of 2023, Government Regulation Number 16 of 2021, and/or Government Regulation Number 21 of 2021,” the banner read.

There was minimal activity at the sealed building, with only a few people observed using the terrace for relaxation.
