Jakarta Opens Opportunities for Economic Cooperation with West Kalimantan, Targeting These Sectors
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is opening opportunities for economic cooperation with the West Kalimantan Provincial Government.
According to Pramono, West Kalimantan’s natural produce has long contributed significantly to central government revenue.
“I know that West Kalimantan plays a very significant role for this nation in general,” Pramono said at the inauguration of the West Kalimantan Family Association (IKKB) board in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (3/5/2026).
Pramono had a brief conversation with West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan on the sidelines of the event.
From the discussion, it was learned that West Kalimantan’s regional budget and original local revenue (PAD) still need to be increased.
Thus, Pramono hopes that West Kalimantan’s PAD can continue to rise in the future.
The PDI Perjuangan (PDI-P) politician then touched on the IKKB organisation, which had just inaugurated its new board on Sunday.
Pramono said that the majority of the current IKKB board members are Jakarta residents.
Therefore, he agreed to advance IKKB in Jakarta.
According to Pramono, he has already suggested to the IKKB Board of Trustees Chairman, Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO), to provide land.
“I told Bang OSO to prepare the land, I’ll build the building. I’ll help build the building,” he explained.
In response to Pramono’s explanation, OSO stated that West Kalimantan has much potential for cooperation with Jakarta.
Primarily in palm oil plantations (CPO) and mining products.
“Everything can be collaborated on. Of course, SMEs later. SME products as well,” OSO said.
In the IKKB board inauguration for the 2026-2031 period, several prominent figures joined the management.
Meanwhile, Dean Arslan was elected as IKKB Chairman for the 2026-2031 period.
