Jakarta Opens Complaint Posts for Illegal Levies at Terminals During Mudik Season
JAKARTA — In efforts to prevent corruption, Jakarta’s Provincial Inspectorate socialised the Safe Homecoming Without Illegal Levies (MANTAP) campaign.
The activity, held on Saturday 14 March, Sunday 15 March, and Tuesday 17 March, involved the establishment of complaint posts at Pulo Gadung Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, and the National Monument.
Jakarta Provincial Inspector Dhany Sukma stated that the primary objective of this activity is to educate the public and provide a platform for citizens to report any illegal levy practices they are aware of or have experienced themselves.
The campaign is a collaborative programme involving his office, Metro Jaya Police, Jakarta’s Provincial Transportation Office, and the Anti-Illegal Levies Community (MAPI).
“This programme has been implemented for three consecutive years,” he said in an official statement on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
Dhany explained that the complaint posts established at Pulo Gadung Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, and the National Monument serve as reporting points for the public who have experienced, witnessed, or are aware of illegal levy practices, either through direct reporting or via electronic or non-electronic media.
“We hope this campaign can provide a safer, more comfortable, and extortion-free travel experience, and strengthen public awareness about the importance of actively participating in creating public services free from illegal levy practices,” he emphasised.
