Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) states that the capital city is open and welcomes migrants from various regions as long as they have preparations, particularly skills.

“Basically, if you live in Jakarta, having just one skill will definitely allow you to make a living in Jakarta,” said the Head of the Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil) of DKI Jakarta, Denny Wahyu, in a podcast monitored in Jakarta on Friday.

In addition to skills, he said, migrants must ensure they have a place to live in Jakarta, even if they plan to stay temporarily.

Furthermore, migrants must report their arrival so that Jakarta’s population data becomes more accurate and can be utilised for more targeted policy-making, both in terms of social and economic development planning, as well as other planning.

“In particular, to ensure that Jakarta residents can be served with their basic services properly, including education, health, and other public services,” Denny stated.

This exhortation is contained in the Circular Letter of the Regional Secretary Number SE/14/2026 on Exhortations to Maintain Security, Tranquillity, and Public Order during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 M Holiday.

The DKI Dukcapil has prepared the Datawarga application via the website https://datawarga-dukcapil.jakarta.go.id/, which can be accessed by RT/RW administrators to record migrants in their respective areas.

In addition, DKI Dukcapil is also providing door-to-door services throughout the DKI Jakarta region throughout April 2026.
