The Jakarta One Running Series 2026 has been officially introduced as a series of running events combining sport, community and the spirit of togetherness. Carrying the theme ‘One City, One Celebration’, the event will take place in five areas of DKI Jakarta, offering an experience of enjoying the capital through every step.

The Jakarta One Running Series was initiated by PT Sasana Jiwa in cooperation with the DKI Jakarta provincial government. The event will be held on five different routes representing South Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta and Central Jakarta.

The series forms part of the celebration of Jakarta’s 500-year journey, encompassing history, struggle, transformation and residents’ pride in their city. The activity is not merely directed as a sporting competition, but also as a meeting space for people from various backgrounds.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung assessed that the Jakarta One Running Series has strategic value because it can foster a spirit of unity and collaboration among Jakarta residents.

‘I see that the Jakarta One Running Series has very strategic value. By involving five city areas and presenting a meeting point at the National Monument, this activity represents Jakarta as a symbol of unity, collaboration and the collective spirit of all its residents,’ Pramono said in a statement on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

Pramono also appreciated the event for encouraging an active and sustainable lifestyle. He expressed hope that the Jakarta One Running Series can invite residents to move together while strengthening their love for Jakarta as a healthy and inclusive global city.

PT Sasana Jiwa CEO Rufina Novalita said the idea for the Jakarta One Running Series stemmed from a desire to present a unique and special celebration of Jakarta’s 500th anniversary. The DKI Jakarta provincial government, she said, wanted an activity that could involve the public broadly.

‘The Jakarta One Running Series is not only about running and reaching the finish line. We want to create an event that can be joined by everyone in Jakarta, from runners to those who want to start running,’ Rufina said.

According to her, running has now developed into part of a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, the Jakarta One Running Series is designed to invite all Jakarta residents to enliven the celebration.

‘To be part of a celebration, we do not have to run the fastest, we only need to take one step,’ she said.

The concept will be applied throughout the entire Jakarta One Running Series 2026. Participants are not only invited to pursue distance and time, but also to enjoy the journey, the city atmosphere, the community, and various activities prepared along the route.
