Jakarta’s odd-even vehicle restriction system will remain in force for two days in the early part of this week, namely Monday (16 March 2026) and Tuesday (17 March 2026).

Following this, the vehicle restriction rule will be temporarily suspended from 18 March 2026.

The policy was announced by the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Department amid the national holiday and joint leave period occurring during that week.

With this adjustment, the vehicle restriction system based on registration plate numbers will apply for only two days in the third week of March 2026.

The policy references the provisions in Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 88 of 2019, which stipulates that vehicle restrictions using the odd-even system are not enforced on national holidays.

Additionally, the schedule for national holidays and joint leave in 2026 has also been established through a Joint Ministerial Decree from Three Ministers concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave in 2026.

This rule applies during two time sessions.

Motorists who violate these provisions may be subject to a traffic fine with a maximum penalty of Rp 500,000, in accordance with Article 287 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transport.

The Jakarta Provincial Government has urged citizens to continue paying attention to the odd-even schedule during these two days before the rule is temporarily suspended during the national holiday period.
