PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has announced that construction progress on the CP201 contract package for Jakarta MRT Phase 2A, which includes Thamrin Station and Monas Station, has reached approximately 92 percent and is approaching 93 percent. Both stations are targeted for completion and will begin operations by the end of 2027.

PT MRT Jakarta Construction Director Weni Maulina stated that construction progress continues according to plan. "Alhamdulillah, for Monas Station, the CP201 package is already at 92, heading towards 93 percent," Weni said after inspecting the MRT Jakarta project site in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, 22 July 2026.

According to her, the main challenge in the construction of the CP201 package stemmed from the relatively soft soil conditions along the Bundaran HI to Monas route. Nevertheless, these obstacles have been overcome, allowing construction work at Thamrin Station and Monas Station to proceed on target.

Currently, MRT Jakarta is focusing work on completing the station structures, including the installation of mechanical and electrical systems as well as architectural works. This stage is the final part before both stations enter the testing and operational preparation phase.

Weni explained that MRT Jakarta is targeting the completion of construction and the operation of the two stations by the end of 2027. With the operation of Thamrin Station and Monas Station, the Jakarta MRT service will gain two additional stations as part of the Phase 2A development connecting Bundaran HI to Kota.
