Jakarta MRT Fare Reduced to Rp1 on Eid al-Fitr Days
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will apply a special fare of Rp1 for two days, namely on Eid al-Fitr Day H and H+1, in accordance with Decree No. e-0056 of 2026 from the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency. “We are implementing a special Rp1 fare in commemoration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah,” said the Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Rendy Primartantyo, in Jakarta on Thursday. Rendy stated that MRT Jakarta will apply a weekend operational pattern during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday period, from 18-24 March 2026. This operational pattern follows the weekend/holiday train travel schedule (gapeka), with service hours from 05.00 to 24.00 WIB and a 10-minute interval between train departures. Specifically on the night of takbiran, operations will be extended until 01.00 WIB. “All 13 stations will operate according to these provisions, with a total of 219 train trips using seven train sets,” he said. During the holiday period, MRT Jakarta will continue to operate to serve the public with maintained service standards. All stations will be open with normal services, and additional personnel will be deployed to ensure customer comfort, both in the station areas and on the trains. To maintain collective comfort during the holiday period, customers are urged to remain orderly, keep the station areas and trains clean, and always follow the instructions of the personnel. In addition, MRT Jakarta is also presenting various programmes for the public during the holiday period, including edutourism in collaboration with the Jakarta Experience Board, promotions via the MyMRTJ application, and various activities around the station areas. For illustration, during the 2025 Lebaran holiday period, MRT Jakarta recorded a total of 614,767 passengers from 28 March to 7 April 2025. Meanwhile, on the two days of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah celebration (31 March and 1 April), there were 76,106 passengers, with 28,930 on the first day and 47,176 on the second day.
