Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and Statistics Indonesia (BPS) are developing the utilisation of statistical data and information for the urban public railway business sector. “Currently, data plays an important and strategic role in policy-making. Today’s joint agreement with BPS RI is an important step in supporting the planning and analysis of public mobility,” said PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director Tuhiyat in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. The agreement was formalised in a memorandum of understanding signed by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director Tuhiyat and Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti at the Information Centre of the Monas Station construction area, Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/6). “We hope this strategic partnership yields concrete steps, whether in the form of joint studies, data integration, dashboard development, or joint analysis,” Tuhiyat stated. On the same occasion, Amalia said the collaboration would produce data more relevant to public needs. “Through this memorandum of understanding, BPS RI and PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) agree to strengthen cooperation in the fields of data strengthening and analysis, with the shared ultimate goal of producing official state statistics that are increasingly relevant, accurate, and useful,” Amalia explained. PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Director of Construction Weni Maulina, who accompanied the delegation, explained the station profile and the operational target by the end of 2027. Meanwhile, the scope of the memorandum of understanding includes conducting urban public railway data studies and research, developing a joint information system, and enhancing human resource capacity. The cooperation is planned to last for the next three years.
