Amid the bustle of safeguarding the capital, the Mobile Brigade (Satbrimob) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police took to the streets to distribute takjil, or pre-iftar snacks. Hundreds of packages were handed out to ride-hailing motorcycle drivers and pedestrians.

The social initiative was carried out in front of the headquarters of Battalion B Pelopor, Satbrimob Polda Metro Jaya, on Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya, Cipinang Sub-district, Pulo Gadung District, East Jakarta. Dozens of fully uniformed Brimob personnel distributed the snack packages ahead of the time for breaking the fast.

The commander of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Mobile Brigade, Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that the activity was part of the National Police’s commitment to strengthening social engagement. He emphasised that Brimob is not only present in maintaining security but also through humanitarian actions that provide direct benefits to the public.

Meanwhile, Battalion B Pelopor Commander Inspector Eko Supriyanto said the takjil distribution had become a regular fixture every Ramadan. Beyond assisting residents still on their way home, the activity serves as an opportunity to strengthen the emotional bond between Brimob and the community.

“Through the momentum of Ramadan, the public is encouraged to continue maintaining order, showing mutual respect, and strengthening care for one another,” Eko said.

The distribution proceeded in an orderly and warm manner throughout. All personnel were seen going directly to the roadside, greeting residents whilst handing over packages of light refreshments and beverages.

Brimob’s presence amid the bustle of afternoon traffic was received positively by residents who felt assisted ahead of breaking their fast. Members of the public expressed their appreciation to the Brimob personnel.
