Jakarta Metropolitan Police Prepares to Secure Eid al-Adha, Strengthen Patrols in Abandoned Homes and Tourist Sites

Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Komjen Asep Edi Suheri extended Eid al-Adha 1447 H greetings to celebrating communities. He expressed hope that the festival would strengthen brotherhood.

“On behalf of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police family, I extend Eid al-Adha 1447 H greetings. May the spirit of sacrifice, sincerity, and social concern strengthen our brotherhood and unity in keeping Jakarta safe, comfortable, and conducive,” said Komjen Asep Edi in a statement on Tuesday (26 May 2026).

Meanwhile, Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Budi Hermanto stated that personnel involved include Polri, TNI, Satpol PP, and relevant stakeholders. The Jakarta Metropolitan Police is prepared to ensure the Eid celebrations proceed smoothly.

“The Jakarta Metropolitan Police has prepared comprehensive security measures, from Takbir night, Eid prayers, to animal sacrifice and meat distribution activities. We aim to ensure all events proceed safely, orderly, and conducive,” Budi said.

Budi added that one of the main security points is at Istiqlal Mosque. Police have arranged traffic control, mosque area security, arrival and departure routes for worshippers, and site sterilisation.

Regional police forces are also securing various Eid prayer locations and large-scale animal sacrifice sites. Bhabinkamtibmas are coordinating with committees to ensure orderly meat distribution.

Budi added that police will increase patrols in abandoned residential areas, congested routes, crowded centres, and tourist spots during the long holiday. He urged personnel to prioritise humane, professional, and proportionate service.

“Our personnel are directed to serve humanely, professionally, and proportionately. We also urge the public to remain orderly, show mutual respect, and follow on-site officers’ instructions,” he said.
