Jakarta Metropolitan Police Arrest Two in Central Jakarta Drug Bust, Seize 738 Ecstasy Pills

Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) have arrested two individuals at an apartment in Central Jakarta, seizing 738 ecstasy pills from the suspects.

“On Monday, 16 February 2026, a special team from Sub-directorate 3 of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate successfully apprehended two individuals, R (32) and D (29), for narcotics offences,” said AKP Guntur, who led the special team from Sub-directorate 3 of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate, on Wednesday (18/2/2026).

Guntur stated that the arrest was carried out on Monday (16/2) at 04:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), following a tip-off from members of the public.

“Both suspects are residents of Lampung Province, and approximately 700 ecstasy pills were found in their possession, which were intended for distribution across the Jakarta area,” he said.

Guntur explained that the ecstasy was believed to have been transported by R from Lampung to Jakarta. Upon arriving in West Jakarta, R was collected by D in the Kebon Jeruk area before the pair proceeded to the apartment where they were subsequently arrested.

“Both suspects and the seized evidence have been taken to the Narcotics Investigation Directorate headquarters at Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation,” he said.

Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Komisaris Besar Budi Hermanto, said the ecstasy seizure demonstrated the force’s commitment to eradicating drug trafficking.

“Polda Metro Jaya has zero tolerance for drug offenders. We will take firm action against all forms of narcotics abuse,” Budi said.
