The Narcotics Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has arrested a drug dealer at a photocopy shop in Rawalumbu, Bekasi, West Java. Narcotics evidence was also seized by the authorities.

“We apprehended a male suspect with the initials ATS (30) who is alleged to be the perpetrator,” said the Director of Narcotics at Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Ahmad David, when contacted on Friday (20 February 2026).

The suspect was arrested on Thursday (19 February) following a report from the public regarding suspected drug trafficking in the area. Police moved in and found the suspect at a photocopy shop.

“Officers noticed a man behaving suspiciously at a photocopy shop. Police then detained the man, who identified himself as ATS,” he said.

Unit Head 4 of Sub-Directorate 3 at the Narcotics Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, Assistant Commissioner Rumangga, added that his team had successfully seized a brown cardboard box containing 1,337 grammes of cannabis. The suspect and the evidence have been taken to the Narcotics Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation.

“We successfully apprehended one suspect with the initials ATS. The crime scene was in the Bekasi area. We detained the suspect along with evidence consisting of 1.3 kilogrammes of cannabis,” he explained.

Polda Metro Jaya affirmed that it would continue to combat narcotics trafficking within the jurisdiction of Jakarta and its surrounding areas. The police urged the public not to hesitate in reporting any suspicious activity related to drugs.
