Jakarta Metro Police Chief Addresses 1,000 Brimob Personnel: Uphold Institutional Honour
The Jakarta Metro Police (Polda Metro Jaya) held a ceremonial parade for 1,000 junior Brimob (Mobile Brigade) personnel who had completed their Basic Brimob Training in 2026. The Metropolitan Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, led the parade and delivered direct instructions to the assembled personnel.
The parade took place at the Polda Metro Jaya Precision Stadium on Friday, 13 March 2026. The 1,000-strong cohort of junior Brimob personnel comprised 547 junior non-commissioned officers (Bintara Remaja) and 453 junior constables (Tamtama Remaja). Inspector General Asep stated that this number constituted a new force within the Brimob Corps.
“Standing with fresh spirit, stands a generation of successors who will uphold the honour of the institution and safeguard national security. I convey appreciation and pride to all personnel who have completed the basic Brimob training for the 2026 fiscal year,” Inspector General Asep said in his remarks on Friday, 13 March.
The parade was also attended by Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwobo, Jakarta Metro Police Brimob Unit Commander Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, senior officials (PJU) of Polda Metro Jaya, and regional police chiefs (Kapolres).
Inspector General Asep commended the personnel who had undergone a rigorous formation process. The personnel had been tempered by discipline, trained with firmness, and tested in both physical and mental resilience.
“Not everyone is capable of enduring this process. For that reason, I want you to understand that your success standing here today is the result of loyalty, dedication, and struggle that deserve to be honoured,” he explained.
Inspector General Asep emphasised that basic training was not the end of their journey. Rather, it marked the beginning of service with the Brimob police force.
“However, I must stress that the completion of basic training is not the end of your struggle. It is the beginning of service, and from this day onwards you are personnel of the Brimob Polri. Upon you rests the honour of the corps, the trust of the institution, and the expectations of the community,” he concluded.
