Jakarta Metro Police Arrest 3 Men Attempting to Distribute 15.5 Kg of Marijuana

The Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Directorate foiled the distribution of 15.5 kilograms of marijuana and apprehended three men in an operation on Friday, 13 February 2025.

Head of Unit 1 Subdit 3 of the Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Directorate, Adj. Comr. Arie, explained that the three were arrested at two different locations—the parking area of Tanah Abang Station in Central Jakarta and a rented house in Pamulang, South Tangerang.

The three suspects apprehended are identified by the initials R.A. (30), T.B. (25), and A.W. (33).

“The arrest began from a tip from the public regarding a suspected drug transaction in the car parking area of Tanah Abang Station,” he said in a written statement on Saturday, 14 February 2026.

Arie said his team conducted surveillance and location mapping. After confirming the targets were on site, the team coordinated with local security before carrying out the operation.

During the search of the three men, police found 10 kilograms of marijuana stored in a carry bag.

“At the Tanah Abang Station parking area, we apprehended three individuals with the initials R.A., T.B., and A.W. We secured evidence in the form of 10 kg of marijuana,” he said.

Further investigation was then conducted at a rented house on Jalan H. Nasa Syamsudin, Kedaung, Pamulang, South Tangerang. At this second location, officers found an additional 5.507 kilograms of marijuana.

In total, the marijuana evidence seized amounted to 15.507 kilograms.

“We conducted a search at a rented house and subsequently found evidence in the form of 5.507 kg of marijuana, bringing the total evidence to 15.507 kg,” he concluded.

The suspects and evidence were subsequently taken to the Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Directorate for further investigation.
