Jakarta LRT Velodrome-Manggarai Route 97 Percent Complete, Set for 20 August Finish

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that the Jakarta LRT route from Velodrome to Manggarai is ready for operation. He conducted a direct trial journey from Kepala Gading Station to Manggarai Station on Thursday (13/8).

“The Jakarta LRT, which spans 12.2 km, has an investment value of Rp12.1 trillion, stops at 11 points, and everything is ready,” Pramono stated at Manggarai LRT Station, South Jakarta. He noted that the current construction progress for Phase 1B has reached 97.99 percent, with the remaining work involving signalling at several points, which is expected to be completed by 20 August.

The Governor further explained that the LRT Jakarta network will serve as a transport link connecting three administrative cities: North Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta. He also revealed plans for a future extension to Dukuh Atas, which would integrate Central Jakarta into the network. “We will begin the extension next year, and it is expected to be completed by August 2026,” he added.
