PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda), or Jakpro, has completed the final girder installation for the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Velodrome–Manggarai route. The last girder was placed above the Manggarai Double-Double Track (DDT) area, which was identified as one of the most critical points in the entire project. This achievement means the entire girder installation work along the Velodrome–Manggarai corridor is now 100% connected, marking the completion of one of the most challenging construction stages.

Jakpro President Director Iwan Takwin explained that the Manggarai DDT area required special attention because it is situated directly above an existing, high-intensity railway line. The girder installation at this location demanded thorough planning, cross-agency coordination, and the use of limited working windows to ensure the safety and continuity of active train operations. ‘The challenge was not only the technical aspect of construction but also coordinating safety with ongoing railway operations,’ Iwan said.

With the girder installation complete, the overall progress of the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B construction has reached 94.061% as of the fourth week of June 2026. The next phase will focus on completing remaining works and strengthening operational readiness. Jakpro is targeting the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B to enter the operational stage by August 2026. The project is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to strengthen the public transport system and support the city’s global aspirations. Once fully operational, the combined Phase 1A and 1B LRT system is projected to serve up to 18 million passengers by 2028, while also contributing to a reduction in urban carbon emissions of up to 2,927,250 tonnes of COe.
