Jakarta – PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) said that progress on the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project (Velodrome–Manggarai) had reached 92.67 percent in the first week of May 2026. Since the project began, more than 6 million work hours have been logged. Ramdani Akbar, Director of the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B Project, said that to date the project has recorded 6,405,252 total work hours with 1,160 workers engaged. During that period, there have been no workplace accidents. ‘Safety is not only part of project procedures, but a safety culture that we are continually building with all partners and workers on site. We want to ensure the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project proceeds productively, safely, and continues to consider residents’ comfort,’ he said in a statement on Friday (22 May 2026). According to him, Jakpro, together with the contractor implementing the LRT Phase 1B project, continues to strengthen commitments to prioritise safety, occupational safety, and community comfort around the construction area. The commitment is realised through the application of construction safety standards and is under two safety umbrellas: the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in accordance with Government Regulation No. 50 of 2012 and the international standard ISO 45001:2018. He noted that the construction of the modern public transport must go hand in hand with protection of workers and surrounding communities. Therefore, construction safety standards must be truly implemented. Ramdani revealed that the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B construction takes place in a densely trafficked area and a relatively narrow work zone. Therefore, protecting nearby residents receives as much attention as worker safety. It is known that progress on the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B has reached 92.67 percent in the first week of May 2026. It is targeted that the construction will be completed and operational in August 2026.
