Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Construction Project Claimed as 'Zero Accidents'.

The Jakarta LRT Phase 1B construction project on the Velodrome–Manggarai route recorded a total of 6,405,252 man-hours with zero work accidents. “Safety is not only part of project procedures, but a working culture that we continue to build together with all partners and workers on site. We want to ensure the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B development proceeds productively, safely, and while continuing to prioritise residents’ comfort,” said the Director of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Project, Ramdani Akbar, in Jakarta on Friday. He said that the development of modern public transport must go hand in hand with protection for workers and the surrounding community. PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) or Jakpro together with the contracting company implementing the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B project apply construction safety standards and operate under two safety frameworks, namely the Safety and Occupational Health Management System (SMK3) in accordance with Government Regulation No. 50 of 2012, and the international standard ISO 45001:2018. Both are not merely ornamental certificates, but require periodic audits, transparent incident reporting, and continuous improvement. Ramdani said the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B construction is taking place in a high-traffic area and relatively tight work spaces. Therefore, protection of nearby residents receives the same level of attention as worker safety. The progress of Jakarta LRT Phase 1B construction had reached 92.67 percent in the first week of May 2026. The introduction of this new line is expected to strengthen urban transport connectivity while encouraging people to shift to a more integrated, safe, and environmentally friendly public transport mode.
